Johor Baru Chingay Festival 2026 (马来西亚柔佛古庙游神2026), the city’s iconic Chinese New Year (CNY) procession, returns for five days from 6 – 10 March 2026, taking over the streets surrounding the historic Johor Ancient Temple.
This highly regarded celebration will illuminate the city with vibrant street light installations near the CIQ customs complex linking Johor Bahru and Singapore, complemented by solemn Taoist deity processions.
Consistent with past editions, visitors can expect a exhilarating showcase of elaborately decorated floats, along with energetic dragon and lion dance performances on 9 March 2026, bringing the CNY festive spirit to life throughout the city.
