Malaysia Day Celebration 2025 (Sambutan Hari Malaysia 2025) will commemorate the 62nd anniversary of the formation of the Malaysian federation and is set to take place on 16 September 2025 at the PICCA Convention Centre @ Butterworth Arena, located on mainland Penang. This continues the annual rotation of host states, following last year’s celebration taking place in Sabah.
The event will showcase a vibrant line-up of cultural and contemporary performances by Malaysian artistes and groups from both East and West Malaysia. Highlights include the first-ever Malaysia Day performance by the Malaysian Traditional Orchestra (OTM) from Istana Budaya, featuring over 30 musicians representing diverse communities and traditional instruments. The celebration will also feature performances by renowned artistes such as Ella Aminuddin (Ratu Rock), Chinese vocalist Suki Low, Indian singer Roshini Balachandran, Sarawakian talent Rezza Shah, Sabahan songstress Dabra Sia, and many more.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, the event will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, with distinguished guests including Penang Governor Tun Ramli Ngah Talib, Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, and Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas in attendance.
As part of the Malaysia Day celebrations, the Prime Minister has declared 15 September 2025 a national public holiday, offering Malaysians a long weekend to enjoy the festivities.
