Malaysia National Day Celebration 2025 (Sambutan Hari Kebangsaan 2025) will mark the nation’s 68th anniversary of independence from British rule. The celebration will take place in Putrajaya, Malaysia’s administrative capital, beginning at 12:00pm on 30 August 2025 and running until 6:00pm on 31 August 2025.
Held under the theme “Malaysia Madani: Rakyat Disantuni”, the celebration will feature a vibrant programme, including a 30-hour non-stop marketplace, <RUIH MERDEKA 2025>, at the Millennium Monument (Monumen Alaf Baru). Kicking off on National Day eve, the event will include live performances, cultural showcases, creative activities, and a midnight countdown to usher in Merdeka Day.
On 31 August 2025, the National Day Parade will begin at 7:00am at Dataran Putrajaya, officiated by the Prime Minister and His Majesty the King of Malaysia. The 2.1 km-long parade will involve over 14,000 participants, including marching bands, uniformed contingents, and an impressive display of military and enforcement assets, capped off with a much-anticipated aerial flypast.
Note: In addition to the main celebration in Putrajaya, Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur will host a Eve of Independence celebration on 30 August 2025, starting at 5:00pm.
