Sibu Countdown 2024 / 2025 (MOTAC Bersama Komuniti @ Sibu), the Malaysia Tourism Ministry’s annual New Year celebration, will take place for the first time in Sibu from 27 December 2024 through to the early hours of 2025 at the Azman Hashim Community Sports Centre.
With the theme “Sibu Carnival: Celebrating 2025 Together” the event will showcase Sarawak’s rich multicultural heritage through a variety of exciting activities. Highlights include a 100-stall food fair featuring delicious dishes from the Malay, Iban, and Chinese communities, alongside live performances and entertainment by Sarawak’s cultural groups and renowned Malaysian singers including Bunkface, Baby Shima, Nicole Lai and Uriah See. This celebration will capture the spirit of unity, not only in Sarawak but across Malaysia.
The festivities will conclude with a stunning fireworks display lighting up Sibu’s skyline as we usher in 2025.
