Sibu Countdown 2025 / 2026 (Sarawak, Malaysia)

Sibu Countdown 2025 / 2026 (Sibu Jaya 2026 Countdown), the city’s flagship New Year celebration, is back for 13 days this year, running from 19 December 2025 through to the early hours of 2026 at the Azman Hashim Community Sports Centre.

With the theme “Menuju 2026: Terokai Sibu, Rasai Malaysia” and as part of the “Visit Malaysia 2026” programme, the event showcases Sarawak’s rich multicultural diversity, including a food fair, Christmas evening celebration, band music competition, e-sports tournament, 3-on-3 basketball challenge, pickleball game, kids’ dressing contests, and more.

The highlight is none other than the countdown concert on New Year’s Eve (NYE), 31 December 2025, featuring Malaysian homegrown bands and singers, Bunkface, Baby Shima, Marsha Milan Londoh, At Adau, Danny Koo 许佳麟, among many others. The festivities will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display, welcoming 2026 in style.
