Sarawak Countdown

Sarawak New Year Countdown 2023 / 2024 is set to take place on this 31 December 2023 at the iconic Kuching Waterfront. Themed "Let's Celebrate Together", the 6-hour party includes a host of performances by community groups, popular Sarawakian artistes as well as renowned Malaysian singers and groups such as Datuk Amy Search, Dato’ Zainal Abidin, Hael Husaini, Floor 88, De Fam and more. To make day even more special, a new flagpole that will become the tallest in Southeast Asia, will also be launched at the event.
Sarawak New Year Countdown 2024 / 2025, the annual NYE celebration at Waterfront Kuching, is back on 31 December 2024. The event kicks off in the morning with aerobics, orchestral performances, exhibitions, demonstrations and a delectable food fair. The excitement continues from 6pm with concerts featuring Sarawakian artistes and cultural groups, along with regionally renowned singers and bands, including Hetty Koes Endang and Akim & The Majistret.
Sibu Town Square Countdown 2024 / 2025, a New Year celebration organised by the Sibu Municipal Council (SMC), will be held on 31 December 2024 at Dataran Tun Tuanku Bujang. Attracting an expected 20,000 attendees, the event will feature live music performances by renowned Malaysian artists such as Azlan & The Typewriter, Bell Yu Tian 傅熙雅 and Daniel Cheah 车志立, along with clown and magic shows and a musical fireworks display to usher in the new year.
Sibu Countdown 2024 / 2025 (MOTAC Bersama Komuniti @ Sibu), the Malaysia Tourism Ministry's annual New Year celebration, will take place for the first time in Sibu from 27 December 2024 through to the early hours of 2025 at the Azman Hashim Community Sports Centre. With the theme "Sibu Carnival: Celebrating 2025 Together" the event will showcase Sarawak’s rich multicultural heritage through a variety of exciting activities. Highlights include a 100-stall food fair featuring delicious dishes from the Malay, Iban, and Chinese communities, alongside live performances and entertainment by Sarawak’s cultural groups and renowned Malaysian singers including Bunkface, Baby Shima, Nicole Lai and Uriah See. This celebration will capture the spirit of unity, not only in Sarawak but across Malaysia.
